As a guest writer, I write this
article for all first time mothers who are about to start shopping for diapers.
When I had my first child, there were a lot of confusions here and there
concerning which diaper was better between disposable or cloth ones. While some
experienced mothers said they preferred disposable diapers with facts and
figures which were enough to convince me, others would bring other facts and
figures supporting disposable diapers. All these statistics made be so confused
that I had to take my time to judge the situation myself. How? Before I tell
you how I made my final decision, let me give you all the fact and figures for
each diaper
LIQUID RETENTION LEVEL
Disposables
Diapers: One of the facts
that support disposable is that it can hold large amount of baby urine without
being overfilled. With this, your baby can stay longer in it without any inconvenience.
Cloth
Diapers: Some mothers said
that there are some cloth diapers NOT
ALL that can be used between 8 – 12 hours without any problem which means
that fluid can be in it for at least 12 hours before it calls for change.
Decision:
Disposable Diapers better than cloth Diapers
BABY SKIN DRYNES ABILITY
Disposable
Diapers: All disposable
diapers make baby skin drier and it reduces the rate at which the baby skin
gets in contact with urine or feces. This is because it takes out water from
baby skin into the diapers layers.
Cloth
Diapers: Some cloth diapers are
now absorbent and convenient which make baby skin to be dry.
Decision: Both
are good at this level but disposable diapers are drier than cloth.
DIAPER RASH CAUSAL
Disposable
diaper: This diaper is
widely believed that baby easily have diaper rashes when use it. This is due to
some chemical used in making it which get in contact with baby skin.
Cloth
Diaper: This diaper has no chemical at all. This indicates that it
does not quickly cause diaper rashes.
Decision: Cloth
diapers are the best in this area.
MONEY SAVING
Disposable
diapers: This diaper consumes more money because immediately it is
been used it cannot be reused again which always calls for a new purchase.
Cloth
diapers: With this, more money will be saved because it is washable,
dryable and storable and reusable.
Decision: Cloth
diapers are better than disposable one.
ECO SYSTEM FRIENDLY
Disposable
Diapers: Disposable diapers are very difficult to decompose as it
takes up to 500 years to be decomposed.
Cloth
diapers: Since this is not disposable, it does not need to be
decomposed even it can be given away as a gift or resold to generate more
income.
Decision: Cloth diapers win
